Assistant Service Manager

The Assistant Service Manager position is a full-time seasonal position with potential for year round.    The successful Assistant Service Manager candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects, objectives and deadlines to achieve department and company goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities that provide quality leadership and guidance to a team of up to 35 year round and seasonal employees. 

Salary and Benefits:

  • $35,000 to $75,000 per year DOE

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have previous management experience
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or similar and 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have a valid Alaska driver's license, clean driving record, and maintain same during employment.
  • Must have consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to accurately type 40 words per minute.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

RV Technician

The RV Technician will be responsible for the proper diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of all types of RV products in accordance with Company and Manufacturers’ standards.   The successful candidate will work with the Service Manager and other RV Technicians in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a fleet of motorhomes on Ford Chassis.  RV Technicians will demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities that promote safety in the workplace, preventive maintenance practices, identification of warranty claims and cost control on vehicle repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Additional responsibilities include staging RV’s for repairs, acquiring parts, completing repair orders, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $20 to $30 per hour flat rate DOE.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Alaska driver's license, clean driving record, and maintain same during employment.
  • Must have consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Must have a complete set of tools.
  • Must be able to lift 72 pounds.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 3 to 5 years experience as an RV Service technician or be a graduate of a NRVTI School with an additional 1 years experience as an RV Service technician.

Service Writer

The Service Writer will be responsible for preparing and pricing retail orders for retail service agreements, will be the first contact for service customers, prepare written estimate for service work and parts, and act as a liaison between customers and Technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Additional duties will be performing retail sales activities, ensure retail parts and inventory are properly displayed, and assist the Sales department in selling items to new motorhome owners. This position typically averages 40 to 45 hours per week.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Base pay plus commission

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent customer service, communication and phone skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma and 2 years office and clerical experience with 1 or 2 years customer service experience.
  • Must have a valid Alaska driver's license, clean driving record, and maintain same during employment.
  • Must have consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to accurately type 40 words per minute.
  • Must be proficient with word processing programs like Microsoft Office.

Reservations Agent/Operations Assistant

The Reservations Agent/Operations Assistant is the interface between the public and the company, providing excellent customer service as well as selling available rental dates and taking client reservations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Accurately answer customer's questions, update Mailing List/Reservations database.
  • Provide rotational coverage of cashier position. 
  • Sell available rental dates, and take client reservations. 

Salary and Benefits:

  • $13.00 per hour* based on $13.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour Time Card Bonus, a $0.75 per hour End of Season Bonus, a $0.75 per hour Safety Bonus and $0.50 Wellness Bonus. (See Bonus section below for details)

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must be able to sell available reservation dates to prospective clients optimizing number of rental days.
  • You must have the ability to accurately account for cash and other financial transactions.
  • You must type accurately a minimum of 40 words per minute and edit general correspondence.

Training

Training is the key to employee and company success. At Great Alaskan Holidays, each employee is trained for the duties and responsibilities of their position with the interest of safety, employee satisfaction and company success.

Bonus

Great Alaskan Holidays offers a substantial bonus program for the Seasonal team members.  The $2.00 per hour end of season, safety and wellness bonus starts accruing no earlier than May 1, 2009 or date of hire which ever is later.

Location

We are located at 9800 Old Seward Highway .

  • Half way between Dimond Blvd. and O'Malley Blvd., between E. 94th and 100th Street, our beautiful 27,000 sq.ft. motorhome rental and sales dealership is next to United Rentals on the (west) side of the street. Look for our large green and white sign, turn into our driveway and park in front of the main building. Walk to the front doors and enter the glass showroom where signs will direct you to the office where someone from our staff will assist you.
